Untitled Goose Game Jadi GOTY DICE Awards 2020
Kita memang sudah memasuki pertengahan bulan Februari 2020, namun bukan berarti ajang penghargaan untuk memberikan predikat “yang terbaik di antara yang terbaik” bagi video game yang dirilis di tahun 2019 sudah rampung. Salah satunya adalah penghargaan bergengsi DICE Awards yang diselenggarakan tahunan. Agar Anda tidak bingung, DICE di sini sekali lagi tidak mengacu pada nama developer di bawah EA yang menangani game sekelas Battlefield. DICE di sini adalah penghargaan di bawah The Academy of Interactive Arts and Sciences (AIAS) yang pemenangnya dipilih berdasarkan voting puluhan ribu pekerja kreatif di industri game.
Setelah sempat mengumumkan nominasi belum lama ini, DICE Awards 2020 akhirnya menentukan game mana yang berhak menyandang predikat sebagai “Game of the Year”. Secara mengejutkan, ia ternyata jatuh pada game indie racikan House House – Untitled Goose Game! Untitled Goose Game berhasil mengalahkan pesaing super berat seperti Control, Death Stranding, Outer Wilds, dan juga Disco Elysium. Tidak sampai di sana saja, Untitled Goose Game juga berhak membawa pulang penghargaan untuk game indie terbaik dan game dengan desain karakter terbaik.
